SAT and TOEFL classes
The SAT, offered by the College Board, is a standardized college admissions test
accepted by colleges and universities in the States and abroad.
In order to prepare for the SAT, students can learn several tips and test-taking
strategies offered in my classes (private or small group). Students should practice
solely from tests offered by the College Board as it is the official creator of
the test. Khan Academy has paired with the College Board, so their practice questions
are also authentic. All other test preparation books do not provide official test
material.

My lessons cover the following sections of the test: Reading, Writing and Language,
and the SAT Essay. Math lessons can be arranged for students interested in SAT Math

All students can begin to improve their vocabulary and reading comprehension
skills by reading articles from online publications such as The New York Times,
The Economist, and The Washington Post.
About The Test
The SAT is meant to indicate how prepared applicants are for college by measuring
key skills such as reading comprehension, computational ability, and clarity of
expression. It offers one way for colleges to compare students across the U.S. and
internationally.

The top SAT score is 1600 (800 for Reading & Writing plus 800 for Math).
For the most part, highly competitive U.S. colleges and universities expect international
students to score between 1400 and 1600. The SAT Essay is optional and scored separately.
U.S. College Applications
Most American universities require applicants to submit scores from either the
SAT or the ACT. To learn about the differences between these two standardized tests,

In Cyprus, most students take the SAT which is offered in Nicosia at both the
American International School and the European University Cyprus. The ACT is offered
at the American International School.
During the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic school years, the SAT will be administered
to international students in October, December, March, and May.
SAT Subject Tests will be available in October, November, December, May, and
June.
